1.) Spritz to get the night started?

A big, buttery Chardonnay with the girls.

Bubbly with your date, of course!

2.) The bar is all out of the wine you’re been craving. What's plan B?!

Shots all around! Your treat.
You consult with the BFF before re-ordering.
Nothing, and you seriously consider leaving even though it’s a coworker’s birthday party.

3.) Speaking of which, you’re in charging of bringing the wine to the next office party. What do you choose?

The tricky and obscure Nebbiolo that you think will impress. (Even though its spicy notes aren’t for everyone.)
A life-of-the-party Sauv Blanc from New Zealand. Its tropical characteristics should be a crowd-pleaser.
From the liquor store, you secretly call your closest office-mate in a panic. She tells you to go with the jammy Zinfandel, which was your instinct all along.

4.) Music of choice?

The mix CD your old roommate sent you. You want to know every track in case she asks you about them.
Something strange and obscure. You sort of like being the only person who enjoys it.
Salsa, or any danceable beats from a hot, tropical location.

5.) The last “It” wine you tried?

Beaujolais. Sure, it’s over-rated, but you appreciate the annual celebration around it.
Brut rosé. It’s inherently intimate and romantic.
Gimmicks ruin wine! You prefer to stick with your tried-and-true.

6.) If you were a wine region, you would be…

Mendoza. Rugged, tucked away, but known for its quality product.
Santa Ynez. Accessible and friendly, where the tasting rooms are fun and raucous.
Rhone. Old school, historical, and full of secrets.

7.) Your sheets are:

A deep crimson like a Cabernet.
Rumpled and comfortable.
Floral and feminine.

8.) Your nightcap…

Is whatever’s left! And is usually followed by two or three more. Oh, peer pressure.
Is that pricey, dry-as-a-bone white Bordeaux you’ve been dying to try. It’s usually paired with a Tivo’d Stephen Colbert.
A medium-bodied Riesling that tastes better when you’re on the phone with an old friend, catching up.

9.) When you’re trying to convince someone to try your favorite wine, you:

Offer to try theirs, an even exchange.
Have your friends give testimonials.
Tell them the long, unusual history of the wine until they give in.

10.) You can say “cheers”…

In four different languages, thanks to all those summers abroad.
In four different languages, but you never get to practice them.
In only one, but when you say it, you mean it.
